Well here we go again, blogs are required to keep our admin status hence this next piece of literary brilliance or drivel as i call it.

Since my last blog i have been on my holidays , well several holidays to be truthful.
In July I travelled to Santa Ponca in  Mallorca(majorca) for a week to enjoy  a wild week of drink and debauchery , well i managed plenty of the drink but none of the debauchery  :)  .

It's beautiful resort which really does have something for everyone .
There are many good restaurants , el ciebo being a fantastic Argentinian grill that has to be tasted to be believed. 

If fast food is the answer well there are enough outlets to feed you right through to the morning to help soak up the drink .hehe 

As for entertainment well the diversity in Santa Ponca is what makes it a resort for all.
There are the tribute bands that everyone likes to watch down at the square as well as live bands/singers on in many pubs.
 
There are twenty live acts on every night  in the Irish sector and that is where most of the action takes place.
Seriously i partied in durty nellies every night till 4.00 then headed off to talk to my Egyptian friend at the kebab stall.
Those who were still standing headed of to one of 4 discos open till 6.00 then if they could still talk there were a few places that opened at 6.00 to finish off their night.

That holiday i spent with my mates , the next holiday was with my wife  and that was in August ,where we spent 2 weeks in Protaras Cyprus.
Here we had a more relaxed kind of holiday with long days spent at the pool, a good meal at night, some long walks and not too late to bed , well not every night  lol.

Tried to meet up with some css players while i was here ,but due to crossed wires and a lack of certain people checking their spawnpoint mail it didn't happen.  Maybe next year squid lol.

One thing about Cyprus in August by god its hot, 43C by day and 28C at night, my tip is make sure you have air-con in the room.
Protaras is another ex fishing village that changed drastically when Famagusta was lost to the Greek Cypriots(check the invasion in 1974) Luckily enough one of the finest beaches in Cyprus is located in Protaras Fig Tree Bay and this has enabled them to build a bustling holiday town including many beautiful hotels, apartments and villas.
Once again there are good eating places here, including the Anatolia where i take the fillet steak, well done in pepper sauce every time.

Last but certainly not least ,I returned to Santa Ponca in September, this being a gift from my wife for my 40Th birthday.(she came too .lol.)
Here we enjoyed a weeks holiday  , a bit of lying by the pool going for walks and the night life that made it hard to get up the next day. My wife likes durty nellies more than me  .Thats due to Hugh who owns it and the two fantastic acts that play there every night  Danny Darcy and The weightless astronauts (Dave and Adrian) they make you have a good time.They played 214 nights in a row now thats a gig  lol.

Well babbled on again for far too long heading back to css and see if i can catch some hackers .

Hello again . After the last attempt at blogging most people myself included would have thought that i should stop, well the powers that be would rather i didn't .

That doesn't mean they liked the blog it's just that if i keep writing i am bound to get a bit better, right ?

 

Well what to spout on about now ..... any ideas ..... no well lets talk about the holiday i am heading off to on Sunday yeahhh .       My wife and i are of to sunny Cyprus , Protaras to be exact.

Hmm all that lying around baking in the sun, lounging in the pool,delicious fillet steaks and loads of alcochol, God i wish i was there right now!

Well there are many excellent places to visit , the ghost town of famagusta , Nicosia the last divided capitol in the world , the Troodos mountains and many sites with ancient artefacts, mosaics, statues and so on  ..... too many to list.

The beaches are amongst the best in europe especially nissi beach and fig tree bay.  Night life is buzzing well elvis is alive and well in Protaras as is the karaoke machine, well you can't have everything.

For those of the younger mindset Aya Napa is only 5 miles round the bay and the night life there is legendary, party on and so on  lol.

Well here is my first and maybe my last attempt at a blog lets see where it takes me. As the title of this blog explains i am one of the older generation of gamers on the spawnpoint network, who just happens to admin on the five uk servers. I came to online gaming kinda late in life ,not owning a proper pc until i was living in my own place and getting married ,around 1994 to be exact. Even then i was kinda frightened of the internet , well people told me many scare stories of bank accounts being emptied , relationships being destroyed and gambling, phew with all that going on no wonder i was worried. lol           Still those problems only happen to other people right ? Well back to the explanation i didn't find spawnpoint until i had finished hl2.then i found this strange game on the disc that said it was internet based only.Well i thought why not and stuck it on, mind you i was still a bit apprehensive about playing online as i didn't want to appear too much of a noob.(didn't work)  Anyways i found common grounds a de_dust2 server full of guys having a good time ,playing away , not too serious which allowed me to pick up the basic game controls.Furious george and sturmbann were the only admins around at that time and to be honest they were learning how to do that as i was learning to crouch, defuse, plant and so on.Six months on  and i am not the complete noob anymore i join a group of guys who call themselves THE LEGENDS and we have a bit of fun , still on the common grounds server. I get to know furious george a bit better and he notices that i tend to control the server when i was on , asking people not to abuse others or use foul and rascist language.He thought i was quite good and along with skydavo asked if we would both like to apply for admin on that server . After thinking about it for a few days i decided to go for the admin position only on the understanding that Furious george helped with all the commands, the admin for dummies booklet and generally covered all my mistakes for the first month. I have to say he was as good as his word and is still helping me out  lol. This blog title is life as an aged admin well i am 40 next month and have been admining for just over a year now.My real life experiences help me keep css in perspective. I know some of the players get a bit excited especially the young ,they shout scream swear, all the above but in general most of them are well behaved and once you point out their errors i na nice way they usually apologise .Thats feels good , lets me know that they respect me even if they don't always agree. Off course when you see,demo catch and then ban a hacker that is when a well done admin or cheers admin lets you know that all the other abuse you take from time to time is worth it.(well thats what i tell myself) Ok i have rattled on for far too long so it's time to end my first and maybe my last blog  ..  cya                        davie...................................
